La Perle Vanilla
Once French colonizers took their first look around the island of Haiti, they nicknamed it “La Perle des Antilles” (The Pearl of the Antilles). They were in awe of the rich soil, lush mountains, and the overall vastness and natural beauty of the island. A treasure, as precious as a pearl—just like our La Perle Vanilla ground coffee.
Haiti hasn’t lost its luster; the island is still known for its rich beauty, stunning land and beautiful mountains, but years of working the land have shown us some of the delicious fruits of our labor: premium coffee.
A delicately light-medium roast, La Perle Vanilla embodies the natural beauty of Haiti with the sweet flavor of tropical vanilla beans. Just one sip brings the lush landscape to life as you daydream of a tropical vacation on your coffee break.

Tanboo Caramel
A natural barrel drum known as a Tanboo is the national musical instrument of Haiti. The Tanboo originated in Haitian temples and dates back several centuries. Over the years, the tamboo has come to represent the sound of Haiti as a staple instrument used all across the island for celebrations, dancing, and to aid in physical, mental and spiritual healing. We think the healing power of music is not that different from the healing power of a good cup of coffee.
This medium roast ground coffee, which we call Tanboo Caramel, has a sweet and buttery flavor synonymous with the rhythm of Haiti. Its bright notes of honey enrich its mild flavor with a finish as irresistible as the spirit of our people.

Many Haitian musicians and professional drummers believe the older the tanboo drum, the better the sound. At Mokafe, we know great things take time, and we took our time creating a smooth caramel flavor with the Tanboo Caramel. In fact, this gourmet ground coffee is as versatile as the sounds a Haitian Tanboo drum can create.
Like all of our Mokafe Coffee flavors, Tanboo Caramel is steeped in heritage. It’s a testament to the spirit of our people, who stand strong in the face of every challenge. Rather than give up hope, they choose to dance and sing to the sounds of the Tanboo.

Marabou Hazelnut
The Haitian word Marabou describes the different ethnicities that make up post-colonial Haiti. As a multicultural nation, Haiti is a palette with strong African roots and all our people are a work of art. At Mokafe Coffee we celebrate diversity and the beauty that emerges from living and working together.
Our Marabou Hazelnut flavor represents solidarity as we join together in our mission for a sustainable Haiti. The credo printed on the Haitian coat of arms is “L’union fait a la force”, or means “unity creates strength”. Coffee is a universal language; here at Mokafe, we believe in the power that can come when we share a cup and some conversation to unite for the better tomorrow.

Cap Rouge Chocolate
The Cap Rouge region of Jacmel, Haiti was once the prime location to grow Haitian coffee. Embargo acts and trade sanctions led to tumultuous shifts in Haiti’s coffee trade leaving Jacmel’s rich red soil stripped of nutrients as many farmers abandoned their coffee fields to focus on charcoal growth.
One of our best sellers, Cap Rouge Chocolate pays homage to the traditional history of Haitian coffee and Jacmel’s rich red soil. This medium-dark roast is rich in milk chocolate tones with complex fruit and floral notes. Its perfect balance of sweet and bitter tones make it a great choice for espresso or your afternoon pick-me-up. Every cup of Cap Rouge Chocolate ground coffee is a symbol of hope for a nation.

Mokafe’s mission is to revitalize Haiti’s coffee trade from the ground up. As we strengthen Haitian coffee farming, our first responsibility is to restore our soil. By planting more trees than we harvest, Mokafe Coffee invests in education for our farmers and co-ops. Through this, we will revitalize Haiti’s time-honored tradition and once again become a world-leading producer of premium organic coffee.
